Mohan Chandra MSc. Ph.D IISc - President

Dr. Mohan Chandra is a Solid State Physicist with over 29 years experience in Material Science and other interdisciplinary fields. They include Semiconductor Material Crystal Growth and Characterization, Behavior of Semiconductors at low temperatures, Solar Cell Manufacturing Technology, Trace level impurity detection, Ultra High Vacuum technology, and many of the background technologies associated with these areas. Previously he has held senior technical and management positions at

  • Metkem Silicon, India - Sr. Manager Development
  • Rexor Corp, USA – Director of Technology
  • GT Equipment, USA – Vice President R&D
Mohan Chandra was responsible for setting up the entire downstream facilities from single crystal growth to polished silicon wafers for the first silicon plant in India. The plant produced material both for the semiconductor and photovoltaic industries. A similar crystal growth facility was set up a few years later, in California. Mohan Chandra then moved to active research and development at GT Equipment Technologies, Inc., an industry manufacturing capital equipment for materials processes for both the semiconductor and photovoltaic industries. He is very knowledgeable with the variety of techniques and equipments for single crystal and multigrain crystal growths, and with the various downstream finishing processes used in these industries. He was also responsible for leading all the federal funded projects.

Mohan Chandra has a Bachelors and Master’s degree in Physics specializing in electronics and holds a PhD in Solid State Electronics (Semiconductor Physics) from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), India. He has over 30 publications in journals, and holds 15 patents in the areas of semiconductor crystal growth and related techniques, crucible coating, free standing silicon body shaping, silicon CVD processes including polysilicon technology, ingot resistivity measuring equipment and supercritical carbon dioxide cleaning. measuring equipment and supercritical carbon dioxide cleaning.
